GivEco Terms of Service
Effective 18 October 2026 · Version 2.3. These Terms govern use of the GivEco website. Creating an account forms a free electronic-services agreement with the Operator. The Terms are available before registration and can be saved or printed.
1. Operator and contact
GivEco is operated by DIGIT-ALL Rafał Polewski, ul. Alojzego Majchra 5a/5, 54-026 Wrocław, Poland, NIP 8942764500. Contact: giveco@giveco.eu, telephone +48 504 043 640. GivEco is run from Poland and currently offers Polish, English, Spanish, French, Dutch and Italian interfaces. Use from another country is subject to service availability and mandatory rights in the user’s country of habitual residence. Choosing a language does not mean that local support or carrier services are provided in that country.
2. What GivEco does
GivEco is a website where adults can post “Give” and “Looking for” listings, search, chat, arrange reservations and handovers, and rate each other after a completed handover. One account supports both types of listing. Listings are free and cannot be used for sales. GivEco does not own items, act as donor or recipient, process payments, or carry parcels. The current service is web-only. Email registration and verification are active; SMS verification, mobile apps, payments and carrier integration are not active.
3. Account and access
You must be an adult and provide a valid email address and display name, set a password, confirm your age, accept these Terms and acknowledge the Privacy Policy. You must verify your email through the link sent by GivEco and keep your password secure. Do not impersonate another person, share login credentials, evade restrictions or use the service for commercial sales. Access requires an internet-connected device, a current browser, JavaScript, session cookies and an active email address. Internet access costs are your responsibility. You can request account deletion in your settings; data may be retained where the Privacy Policy or law allows or requires it.
4. Listings and content
Describe the item or need accurately, including condition, relevant characteristics and location. You must have rights to the content you upload and ensure the handover is lawful. Listings are active for 30 days and may be renewed for another 30 days while still relevant. You may upload up to 10 JPEG, PNG or WebP images per listing; each image may be up to 5 MB after browser optimisation, with a 200 MB total image-storage limit per account. Do not upload another person’s image or personal data without a lawful basis. You grant the Operator a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, technically adapt, display and make your content available as needed for the functions you use; it ends when you delete the content, subject to technical backups and legal retention duties.
5. Categories and prohibited items
Food listings require in-person collection. The “For Animals” category may allow in-person collection, shipping or both, but offering live animals is prohibited. Describe food accurately, including relevant safety and date information. Do not list illegal or prohibited items, including weapons, ammunition, explosives, narcotics, unlawfully offered medicines or medical devices, dangerous chemicals, stolen or counterfeit goods, access credentials, identity documents or items whose transfer is restricted by law. This list is not exhaustive. Do not demand payment for a free item, hide a required charge, spam, threaten, discriminate, publish personal data without a lawful basis or mislead users.
6. Location, chat and safety
Search can use a town or a radius of 5, 10, 25, 50, 100 or 200 km, or cover Poland. Device location is optional and requires browser permission. Coordinates are used to calculate distance, stored in the search session or with a listing, and are not displayed publicly; the town or approximate area is shown. Chat messages are stored for the conversation, moderation and reports. A text filter may flag phrases associated with payment fraud, warn the recipient and create a moderation report; it does not block or hide the message. The filter can be wrong, and a moderator reviews a case before restricting content or an account. Never share passwords, one-time codes, card details or BLIK codes. GivEco does not request payment to receive a gift or parcel.
7. Reservation and handover
A person interested in a listing can start a conversation. The giver can accept one request, which reserves the listing against others. The giver chooses personal collection, shipping or both, subject to category restrictions; the selected method is agreed during reservation. A reservation lasts 24 hours and can be extended once for another 24 hours before it expires. If shipping is chosen, the giver enters a shipment code obtained independently from an external InPost service. GivEco does not buy labels, order shipments, connect to the carrier API, track parcels or guarantee delivery. Once either party marks the item handed over or delivered, both parties confirm completion in the service. After both confirmations, the handover closes and each may leave one rating from 1 to 5 and an optional comment. A problem can be reported in the conversation; the listing remains reserved while the case is handled. GivEco does not decide ownership disputes and is not a carrier or court.
8. Reports and moderation
You may report a listing, message or handover problem in the service or by email. Identify the content or its location, explain the reason and, where possible, provide the legal basis and contact details. Reports are reviewed diligently, objectively and without undue delay. The Operator may hide, remove or restrict content, suspend an account or limit features where needed for law, safety or these Terms. When content or an account is restricted, the affected user receives the scope, reasons and basis of the action and information on how to request a review. A review request may be sent to giveco@giveco.eu. Automated filters are assistance tools and do not decide legality on their own. Mandatory complaint, appeal and other rights under applicable law remain unaffected.
9. Advertising
The Operator may display clearly identified direct advertisements. Advertising does not change the free-giveaway rules. Google advertising and external advertising-tracking tools are not currently active.
10. Complaints, availability and liability
Complaints about the technical operation of GivEco or the Operator’s service may be sent to giveco@giveco.eu. Describe the problem and identify your account. The Operator aims to respond within 14 days; if more time is needed, it will explain why and give an expected response time. Reasonable steps are taken to maintain the service and protect data, but outages or loss of availability may result from infrastructure providers. GivEco does not guarantee that a user will find a recipient or that users will perform their arrangements. Users remain responsible for their content, the lawfulness of items and their direct arrangements. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability where exclusion is not permitted by law.
11. Changes, termination and law
The Operator may amend the Terms for a valid reason, including changes in law, features, security or providers. A new version and effective date will be published; users will be notified of material changes before they take effect. Where renewed acceptance is required, account features will require acceptance of the new text; a user may instead delete the account. The Operator may discontinue the service with reasonable advance notice where possible, without affecting accrued rights or legal record-keeping duties. Polish law and applicable European Union law apply, subject to mandatory protections that cannot be waived in the user’s country of habitual residence. Disputes are handled by courts with jurisdiction under applicable law. If one provision is invalid, the rest remain effective.
